Presented by Brian Zinke, Executive Director of PAS
The term “birdwatching” is a bit of a misnomer, as many birders use sound to aid them while looking for birds. In fact, many species birders report seeing are merely heard and not seen visually at all. Birding by ear (identifying birds by their songs and calls) is a very important skill for those who enjoy birding. In this presentation, we’ll cover the basics of birding by ear, including strategies and resources to help jumpstart or improve your ability to recognize a bird by its sounds.
